You ARE at high risk (20%) of having a coronary event within the next 10 years if you have any of the following:
- Diabetes Mellitus
- Established Coronary Artery Disease
- Cerebrovascular Disease
- Peripheral Arterial Disease
- Abdominal Aortic Aneurysym
- Chronic Kidney Disease

You are at at least at intermediate risk (10-20%)
of having a coronary event within the next 10 years if you have any
of the following:
- Mild coronary or vascular disease
- Metabolic Syndrome
- First Degree relative(s) with onset of cardiovascular disease at 55 years of age in men or 65 years of age in women

Diagnostic criteria for metabolic syndrome in WOMEN includes having three of the following criteria:
- Waist circumference greater than 35 inches *
- Triglycerides greater than 150 mg/dL
- HDL-C less than 50 mg/dl
- Blood pressure greater than 130 / greater than 85 mm HG
- Fasting glucose greater than 110mg/dL

Diagnostic criteria for metabolic syndrome in MEN includes having three of the following criteria:
- Waist circumference greater than 40 inches *
- Triglycerides greater than 150 mg/dL
- HDL-C less than 40 mg/dl
- Blood pressure greater than 130 / greater than 85 mm HG
- Fasting glucose greater than 110mg/dL

| * Waist circumference is the distance around your natural waist
(just above the navel). If your BMI is greater than or equal
to 25kg/m2, your goal for waist circumference is less than or
equal to 40 inches if you're a man and less than or equal to
35 inches if you're a woman.
